About Eversheds Sutherland:
Eversheds Sutherland is one of the largest full service law firms in the world, acting for the public and private sector with offices across the UK, the USA, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia providing legal advice to clients across its company commercial, human resources, legal systems, litigation and dispute management and real estate practices.
Eversheds Sutherland has more than 1300 dedicated lawyers worldwide providing dispute management, ADR and contentious regulatory advice. Our people act for major clients including domestic and international banks, insurers, hedge funds, private banks, fund managers, brokers and proprietary traders. We rigorously project manage disputes through our award winning RAPID resolution approach, helping us to provide a seamless cross border service and cost certainty.
Duties will include handling client instructions, managing pre-action disputes, progressing civil court proceedings (both claimant and defendant actions), negotiating settlements, providing advice to clients and completing client reports (all subject to close supervision and with appropriate support). On complex and/or high value cases, you will work within a team, assisting with specific tasks (e.g. document reviews, preparation of court documents, etc.). On less complex and/or valuable cases, you will be responsible for managing and progressing the case on a day to day.
Skills and experience:
Knowledge of financial services disputes is preferred but not essential (although proven litigation experience is required). You will have completed your Legal Practice Course or be undertaking ILEX or possess equivalent relevant work experience. You must be IT literate.
You must be able to work effectively under pressure in order to meet deadlines, have excellent organisational skills and good attention to detail. Professional communication skills are prerequisite.
In addition to the above, we also require consciousness and full participation in the Firm's commitment to equality and diversity, the environment and health and safety.
We’re a modern, progressive law firm. We think differently and we’ve built a culture where individual skills and personalities can shine through. At Eversheds Sutherland, we believe that innovation comes from having an inclusive culture of genuine equality and diversity and we’re happy to help with any reasonable adjustments you may require in the recruitment process, or once in post.
Eversheds Sutherland endeavours to recruit and fill vacancies directly. However, when we do need to engage with agencies, we operate within a preferred supplier list.
As an inclusive employer we want to see every candidate performing at their best so we use ClearTalents™ to discover how we might improve your application experience
