Duties will include handling client instructions, managing pre-action disputes, progressing civil court proceedings (both claimant and defendant actions), negotiating settlements, providing advice to clients and completing client reports (all subject to close supervision and with appropriate support). On complex and/or high value cases, you will work within a team, assisting with specific tasks (e.g. document reviews, preparation of court documents, etc.). On less complex and/or valuable cases, you will be responsible for managing and progressing the case on a day to day.
Skills and experience:
Knowledge of financial services disputes is preferred but not essential (although proven litigation experience is required). You will have completed your Legal Practice Course or be undertaking ILEX or possess equivalent relevant work experience. You must be IT literate.
You must be able to work effectively under pressure in order to meet deadlines, have excellent organisational skills and good attention to detail. Professional communication skills are prerequisite.
