A locum childcare lawyer is required for an interim assignment based in the South West of England. My client is a lively, active and diverse local authority and a highly efficient operator who serves a unique and beautiful area.
The assignment will begin on a 3 month basis with the contract lasting until the team are successful with their own permanent recruitment. Both full time and part time hours are acceptable as the client is happy to negotiate working terms that work for both parties. Homeworking will be offered after an initial period but an office presence will be required for some part of each week and will need to be balanced around court appearances.
My client can offer the successful applicant a well-managed and modest sized caseload of general care proceedings. Previous locum candidates have always given overwhelmingly positive feedback for this legal team and have always rated highly.
Duties will include:
Managing a caseload of public law cases varying in complexity
Experience working for the public sector is not essential for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will have good organisational and IT skills and previous experience dealing with a public childcare matters and the associated advocacy.
Hourly rate is negotiable but a guide rate of £40 - £45 per hour has been quoted.
