Legal Works clients are a lead international law firm currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic intellectual property solicitor (2-3pqe) to join a friendly and hugely successful team in the London office.
The Intellectual Property and Information Technology (IP/IT) TEAM sits within the global Commercial Practice and forms part of an International IP GROUP with other specialists in the US and Asia
The TEAM acts for companies from all over the world involved in a wide range of activities, including manufacturing, packaging and logistics, financial services, pharmaceuticals, software and defence products, as well as for public sector bodies and household name charities. Our client list also includes entrepreneurs and individual inventors.
The TEAM also advises organisations regularly on technology law, e-commerce regulation, data protection and licensing issues.
The TEAM has advised extensively on the creation, exploitation and protection of trade marks on an international basis.
In addition, the TEAM's extensive experience and knowledge of privacy and data protection means that they are able to cut through regulation and via our global network of offices, we work closely with teams across the firm to help our clients effectively identify, respond and manage their legal rights
ROLE & YOU
This is a Mainly Non-contentious and some contentious soft IP - trade mark, copyright, design, passing off, advertising and marketing.
YOU will have the desire to get involved in marketing and business development and fit into a small but close-knit team as well as work closely with the IP, IT and Commercial team as a whole across the firm.
YOU will have the opportunity for direct client contact and excellent training will be provided to enable YOU to develop their knowledge.
Key elements of the ROLE include:
*Trade mark portfolio management, clearance, opposition and litigation experience - EU and UK required, international preferred
*Licensing (especially trade mark, copyright, content, media and software licensing)
*E-commerce, distance selling and consumer rights (UK and EU required, international preferred)
*Data protection and privacy (UK required, EU and international experience preferred)
*Commercial contracts - drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts (from smaller low value agreements to complex high value transactions) including services agreements, licensing agreements, terms and conditions for supply, transitional services agreements
*M&A support - IP, IT and data protection due diligence, drafting and negotiating IP and commercial transaction documents, drafting and negotiating IP, IT and data protection warranties and indemnities in M&A transactions
*Experience and interest in the following sectors preferred: Fashion, Luxury Goods, Retail, E-Commerce, Travel, Entertainment, IT, Media, Sports and Leisure
