Our client is looking for a Company Commercial Lawyer to join their fast paced and vibrant organisation based in Reading. Candidates who have gained good technical legal experience in company commercial, commercial contracts and corporate work are of real interest.
Candidates who have gained good exposure and been "hands on" in their career to date are sought by our client. Candidates who have focused on corporate, commercial and / or company commercial be a preference. Candidates will need to show they are hardworking; they can think for themselves and are enthusiastic to learn and develop.
The role will involve reviewing and negotiating a wide range of different commercial contracts as well as advising on day-to-day business. The right candidate will need to be able to point to a successful track record in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts (non-disclosure agreements etc).
You will also be involved in dealing with various corporate matters. Candidates should be able to point to relevant mergers & acquisitions (M&A) experience, corporate governance and restructures and board processes (board meetings etc).
The client would like to see candidates who have worked in-house but this is not essential. If coming straight from private practice then they would expect candidates to have secured their experience at a good private practice firm.
This is a good opportunity for a candidate to push their career forward in a busy in-house legal department. You will in return be mentored, developed and provided with the opportunity to broaden your commercial legal skills.
Our client envisages that candidates with 4 - 6 years PQE plus will have the relevant skills / knowledge for this position, however this has been given as an approximate guide for applicants and our client is happy to consider the applications of candidates who fall outside of this PQE range but who have the relevant experience.
For more information on this great in-house opportunity please contact David Smith at Newton Shaw. If this position isn't for you but you know someone who could be suitable then please let us know. We offer a reward fee of £250 for any successful referrals. For full details please see our website.
