Our Housing Management team has lawyers based in London, Southampton, Taunton and Manchester. We act for a large number of Registered Providers of Social Housing on all aspects of their housing functions including possession actions, antisocial behaviour, leasehold queries and policy and procedure work.
We want to invest in your career, and help you to become a recognised expert in your own right, so you will have plenty of one-to-one development and encouragement from your supervising partner (Lindsay Felstead), and the wider team. We will ensure that you get a good level of client contact and early responsibility.
We provide advice and representation in respect of a wide range of areas to include Anti-social behaviour, Injunctions & Possession, Disrepair, Leasehold & Service Charges, Equality Act and Human Rights matters, and on all areas impacting on RP’s housing management function. We represent clients in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court (notably of late in respect of the impact of Equality Act defences in mandatory possession claims: Aster Communities v Akerman–Livingstone UKSC 15).
Excellent client care and relationship skills are a must as much of the role will include developing and fostering relationships.
You will soon become an integral part of this highly regarded team, playing a key part in delivering an excellent level of service to our clients and building your legal career accordingly.
We are looking for someone with the potential to become a big name in Housing Management – so you will demonstrate talent, ambition and a real interest in the social housing sector. We expect you to have built up enough experience to be able to manage some work with minimal supervision, either in house or private practice.
Advocacy experience will be advantageous, but is not essential. Most importantly you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, being able to adapt your style to communicate effectively with a wide range of professional people, and enthusiastic about delivering excellent quality service to your clients.
We expect you to be able to use your initiative, and be a forward-planner, anticipating your clients’ needs in advance wherever possible.
