The department

The Private Client & Charities Practice Group deals with a wide variety of core Private Client work including Trust Administration, Succession Planning, Executry Administration (including complex and contentious executries), Charity Law and Wills/Powers of Attorney.

Purpose of role

An opportunity has arisen for an Associate in our Glasgow/Edinburgh office, although Glasgow would be the preferred location.

Those wishing to be based out of our Edinburgh office will be required to spend three days in the Glasgow office.

The successful candidate will enjoy working in a highly productive environment where individuals gain exposure to high quality work and opportunities to develop. The role will involve carrying out a wide range of core private client work, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Executry Administration, Trust Administration, charity law and estate planning.

Responsibilities

Candidates should have a proven ability within Private Client, to work effectively both individually and as part of a dynamic team. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to work to tight deadlines within a commercially driven environment.

The successful candidate would be expected to run their own case load under the supervision of a Partner.

Required experience, skills and attributes

The STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates would be preferable but is not essential.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a first class team within a progressive firm where individuals can grow and develop their careers.

Language Capabilities

We are a truly global law firm and as such, always welcome hearing from those with foreign language capabilities. In light of our recent combination, Mandarin language fluency would be particularly advantageous given that China is now core to our strategy.

Equal opportunities

Dentons is committed to providing equal opportunities for all. If, as a result of a disability, you believe that there are aspects of the recruitment process or job that you would find more difficult than a non-disabled person, please tell us as soon as possible. We will then be able to discuss with you any reasonable adjustments that could be made to the recruitment process or the job itself.
