Job Purpose
The purpose of the role is to develop and conduct a caseload of private fee-paying family
clients through delivery of a competent family law service and actively seeking
opportunities for new work.

The aim is for the successful applicant to join Longmores at the beginning of December
2017.

Each member of the team is expected to work together in providing a full service to private
family clients.

The successful applicant will report to the Head of the Family Practice Area.

Duties and Responsibilities Strategic  Supporting the Firm in meeting its agreed aims, objectives, financial and performance

targets in relation to the Family Law team  Supporting the promotion of family client services, growing the client base through the
promotion and delivery of an excellent service  Maintaining the highest standards of client service at all times  Contributing ideas to the firm’s marketing strategy for winning new work and
implementing agreed initiatives  Networking within the local community and with key referral sources in order to develop

time to time  Writing articles, blogs and edits for submission to local publications, firm

Functional  Handling Family Law matters from the initial client contact through to completion  Providing accurate Family Law advice to clients whilst developing your own client base

by conducting meetings, researching legal points and advising on legal issues  Locating and instructing Counsel and experts and other relevant professionals and
third parties  Finding an appropriate solution for prospective Family Law clients and convert into
new business for the firm  Handling privately funded caseload of private law work including Divorce, Finances,
Separation, Injunctions, Civil Partnerships, Cohabitation Disputes, Pre and Post
Nuptial Agreements, Children Act work

Person Specification Education/Qualifications A qualified and practicing Family Solicitor or Legal Executive

Evidence of continuing professional development in Family Law

Trained mediator would be an advantage

Member of Resolution would be an advantage Knowledge and Experience

10+ years PQE in private practice, and in particular cases involving Divorce, Finances,
Separation, Injunctions, Civil Partnerships, Cohabitation Disputes, Pre and Post Nuptial
Agreements and Children Act work, ideally for medium to high net worth individuals.

Experience of business development

Knowledge of the local marketplace and business and networking opportunities Abilities & Skills Excellent interpersonal skills, in particular an ability to develop a relationship of trust with
clients and colleagues alike

Well-developed IT skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

Ability to draft letters and documents to a high standard and with attention to detail Strong organisational skills Strong verbal communicator Ability to supervise junior members of the team
