The Role

A new opportunity has arisen in our Leamington Spa Office for a Conveyancing Assistant, providing services to our clients and attracting new business.

Your responsibilities will include commercial conveyancing work including all aspects of correspondence throughout the transaction, meeting clients, dealing with telephone enquiries and generally progressing matters using your own initiative.

Paralegal experience preferable but we will also consider conveyancing secretaries seeking a new opportunity to progress their career.

Key Responsibilities

  • To carry out fee-earning commercial conveyancing work under the supervision of the Line Manager and to work in accordance with the Firm’s manuals.

  • To deal with quotes as directed by the Line Manager

  • To deal with client queries over the telephone and in person

  • To progress files through to completion

  • To undertake post completion work, if requested

  • To provide audio typing and other typing duties, including typing of bills

  • Undertake general administration tasks, as and when required

  • Maintenance and preparation of full attendance notes

  • To attend Property Department meetings and Firm wide meetings

  • Use of the Firms case management system

  • Proactive involvement in marketing and practice development

Knowledge and Experience

  • At least 2/3 years’ experience in Commercial Conveyancing

  • Sound interpersonal and supervisory skills

  • Excellent telephone communication skills

  • Good organisational and administrative skills

  • Ability to be a team player

  • A sound knowledge of conveyancing procedures and CQS Protocol

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word and Outlook

  • Knowledge of Case Management Systems an advantage

  • You may occasionally be required to work at one of the Firm's other offices as required by the Members – driving licence therefore essential
