Applications from strong litigators are now sought for an exciting new position in Hertfordshire. This position is working for a reputable in-house legal team based within a well-established local authority.
You will join an established and hard working team who are keen to bring a dynamic lawyer into their team to work on a range of civil litigation work.
This position will last for a minimum of 3 months, but it is expected to last much longer than this, with the contract expected to be renewed regularly.
The ideal candidate will have experience working at District or Borough Council level, advising on routine and complex matters including:
* Reviewing anti-social behaviour files and determining whether the authority needs to apply for an injunction or Anti-Social Behaviour Order
* Assisting with the drafting of witness statements, preparing applications for court, drafting orders, attending county court appearing on behalf of and representing the Council
* Dealing with Judicial Review matters including homelessness
* Handling debt recovery matters
This is a full time post. There is possibility that the council will be flexible and consider a part time applicant. This will be dependant upon the skill set the applicant can offer the council. Also, one days homeworking will be available.
An hourly rate of between £35 - £40 per hour is offered for this position.
