Description

THE ROLE

DLA Piper's Finance team is one of the largest dedicated global practices.

We offer market-leading insight into areas of finance, representing leading investment and commercial banks, public and private companies, and regulatory authorities that actively help shape the market. Our practice advises on all aspects of financing - including asset finance, debt finance and derivatives - across a broad range of sectors. Our extensive network allows our clients to tap into the deep resources of our global organisation, taking advantage of our lawyers’ understanding of the particular legal risks and business opportunities that prevail in all major world markets.

Our London Debt Finance team is one of the largest and most active teams in the UK and continental Europe. We regularly advise senior lenders, mezzanine lenders, equity investors, investment funds and companies on all aspects of syndicated and bilateral debt financing, including all aspects of the financing of public and private company acquisitions, MBOs, MBIs and other institutional buyouts across the globe. Our lawyers provide advice and assistance to clients dealing with distressed credit issues and work closely with our restructuring group to find appropriate solutions. We offer legal services to funders and investors in the debt finance markets including products where the offering consists of a combination of any senior, mezzanine, unitranche, subordinated, high yield and/or equity funding.

The team now seeks to recruit additional technically excellent lawyers, with around two - six years' experience gained in a firm(s) rated for its Finance practice.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main duties and responsibilities will include, but not be restricted to:

•Achieving personal fee earning targets working on a broad range of Finance transactions but with a particular focus on Debt and Leveraged Finance
•International deal exposure, acting as part of the team advising on transactions across different counties for large institutional clients
•Involvement in drafting a wide range of Finance agreements, including credit agreements, intercreditor agreements and security documents
•Business development activities and contributing to client growth

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

The successful candidate will have:

•an outstanding academic record, strong technical ability and developed team-working skills
•demonstrable interest in marketing and business development and a desire to help drive the practice forward.
Training and development are given the highest priority. An international firm, with deep roots in the local market, DLA Piper offers a level and variety of work you’ll find difficult to match anywhere in the UK.
