This position is based in the Dispute Resolution team, which deals with a full range of contentious IP & Media disputes.
The team is an energetic, informal and sociable group with an impressive client base, predominantly in the marketing, publishing, media and retail sectors. We are looking for a team player who will participate fully in all aspects of life of this strong and growing group.
The role will involve working with market leading Partners and we welcome candidates who are able to display true commerciality, both in relation to advising their clients and in seeking out business development opportunities for the practice as a whole. The role will report to a number of individual Partners/Senior Associates within the team in respect of individual assignments.
This role will also be expected to support the team’s marketing activities and contribute to the production of written material such as client guides, and prepare and deliver talks and seminars on occasion.
The ideal candidate should have excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills and be able to run their own files with minimal supervision where appropriate.
Academic rigour will be an important component of this position, as will technical excellence but the firm will place the greatest importance on the candidates’ willingness and ability to contribute positively to the growth of the team.
The successful individual will ideally be 2-4 years’ PQE with strong technical legal skills, and good experience of working on contentious IP and Media work.
The ideal candidate should have experience of working in a medium or large private practice law firm.
Knowledge of retail, leisure, technology, automotive, financial services, marketing and/or media sectors would be advantageous.
IT Skills required:
* Competency in MS Office suite.
Educational and professional qualifications:
Qualified UK lawyer with a current UK practising certificate.
