Job Title: Junior Legal Counsel
Salary: Up to £38k
Douglas Scott are working with this Lancashire based business on a couple of important legal hires to complement their successful in-house function. Acting as a Junior Solicitor in a small team, you will get the opportunity to develop a wide range of legal skills but you will also be given the opportunity to develop a niche specialism, looking at the majority of the commercial property work coming through the business and the team.
You will work closely with some really strong senior solicitors in the team, learning and developing your legal skills across all the areas of law, the in-house team deals with. It is imperative that you are a strong character with a desire to undertake a really varied workload within a fast-paced environment.
Whilst your day to day workload will mainly consist of reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, you will also gain exposure to the following areas:
* Conducting debt recovery litigation and contractual dispute matters
* Corporate acquisitions
* Employment law related issues
* Compliance and regulatory issues, (e.g. GDPR)
* Corporate governance
The ideal candidate for this position will have had some experience in Commercial Property matters but any wider experience, particularly in general company commercial/corporate matters would be highly advantageous. You will have 1+ years PQE.
This is a growing business and equally a growing Legal team where there is room for a Junior Solicitor to develop as a solicitor under the guidance of some particularly strong Senior Legal Counsel.
